Digitakt In The Dark #1
I recently got seduced by the #Dawless community and decided to embrace this path with my very first electronic device the: #ElektronDigitakt.
‑ Here’s some insights of my current process 🖤
“Pushing boundaries...”
This is the start of a very new electronic adventure. This approach is really different from the productions I was used to write in my Daw.
I’ll bring you here on a new musical journey, mixing cinematic, raw, minimalistic and electronic music. Primarily coming back to basics, trusting my instinct through direct live performances.
“... by imposing myself restrictions !”
I’ve been thinking a lot lately about the creative power of limitations. Instead of thinking outside the box constantly and getting lost in all my plugins, I decided to find new ideas by repurposing the box (my creative process).
It’s the idea of working inside of systems in ways my mind is not use to deal with. It is the notion that maybe the way to look forward is look backward and recover something that I’ve lost in my creative process.
Being limited in my actions while working with the Digitakt really triggers my creativity. I had really mixed feelings while going through this process. Between incomplete, underproduced, excitement, and surprise all at once.
“Enjoy the process and trust your own choices”.
This approach is really different compare to producing regular tracks in my #Daw. I allow myself to work and produce with a very limited selection of samples.
And for the rest, I’m seriously just trusting my instinct and #liveperformer feelings on this.
When I listened to the two first #dawless tracks I wrote, my formatted #producer brain was thinking “no go...”. ‑ But then my live heart took over thinking “damn, I’ll definitely trip to this during a #liveshow".
“My first #Dawless release!”
Going through this whole process lead me to my very first Dawless release: "THE GREAT ESCAPE". This track marks my debut as Dawless producer. I really enjoyed writing and performing it with the Digitak.
I went through the attentive hears of the one and only @danfurmusic to get the mastering done properly.
Don’t be a stranger 🖤🏰
