Ableton Live Mixing Template for Elektron Digitakt.
I recently got asked how I was recording my jam sessions with the Elektron Digitakt. So here we go, in today's jam session I decided to share with you some insights of my recording process. Thinking ahead and being efficient is a big part of my creative process. I needed a "time saver" to be able to improve my Live Sessions.
I first started writing music with the Digitakt, by recording my jams "dry". Straight into Ableton Live without the Fx. Then I had to spend time mixing each tracks, adding effects afterwards. Building my own template was a game changer. Happy to finally be able to share it with you. Developed for Digitakt & Ableton Live users. (Note that you’ll need Overbridge 2.0 to make good use of it).
I worked on this template with one idea in mind. Being able to plug and play while mixing the different tracks directly from the Digitakt. You should be able to record and export your jams without having to spend much time mixing in the Daw.
This template is far from being perfect, it’s still an early version (+ I'm not a studio engineer). But it still does the work for Live purpose and can definitely save you some time in your workflow. - This session is recorded with this template without any tweaking on the computer.
I hope I could answer your question and save you some time in your creative process. I’m open for feedback. There's definitely room for technical improvement, let's make the best out of it! Wishing you a lovely Sunday out there.
